Code of Conduct and Harassment Policy
Purpose
Our Network is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all members. We want everyone to be treated with respect and dignity. This policy outlines our expectations and a zero- tolerance stance on harassment or misconduct.
Scope
This policy applies to all members of our Network, including employees, contractors, partners, sponsors and speakers, in all physical and virtual workspaces, events, and communications.
Expectations
- Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
- Foster an environment that values diversity and inclusivity.
- Communicate openly and constructively, avoiding language or actions that are discriminatory, derogatory, or abusive.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to:
- Unwelcome advances or inappropriate physical contact.
- Offensive comments or jokes based on race, nationality, gender, religion, age, disability, geography, or other protected characteristics. l
- Bullying, intimidation, or retaliation against anyone who reports a violation.
- Dissemination of explicit, derogatory, or discriminatory materials.
Reporting Violations
If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this policy, please report it immediately to Jenny Smith, tCAN Board Chair (709-699-4175 or jenny@rayagency.ca).
- All reports will be taken seriously and handled promptly and confidentially.
- Retaliation against anyone for reporting or assisting in an investigation is strictly prohibited.
Consequences
Violations of this policy will result in immediate and appropriate action, up to and including termination of membership within the Network.
